Key activities:

Assignment Editor/Producer at KGTV Channel 10

Key Responsibilities:
·         Identify breaking news in real time and aggressively gather facts for cross-platform distribution
·         Monitor station email, scanners and Twitter feeds to stay ahead of stories as they break in the community
·         Help foster a culture of enterprise news gathering by assisting in finding stories, doing research and tracking story ideas and news tips in assignment desk computer systems
·         Supervise the location of field crews, as well as their progress executing on their story assignments, making adjustments as news warrants
·         Write and edit online story content, push alerts, and social media posts as necessary
·         Update and interact with fans and followers on social media
·         Maintain an updated understanding of station's SEO best practices for producing online content
·         Coordinate news editorial and technical staff to facilitate the migration of multimedia content to new media platforms, including video, audio, still photos and graphics
·         Perform other duties as needed and as directed by news management

Digital Producer - Fox 5
The digital news producer is responsible for writing and reporting breaking and developing news stories on, FOX5 mobile apps and social media. Must have excellent news judgment, a sense of what's important to FOX5 viewers and Southern Californians in general, and the ability to report and write news stories accurately, clearly and quickly.

Requirements: Previous experience in a newsroom, especially on a digital platform or in local television news, is strongly preferred. Those with primarily print/newspaper experience must demonstrate that they can respond to breaking news with speed. The ability to continually update and rewrite stories with the newest information – while promptly posting updates on the station's social media accounts – is a must. Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in print writing required. The candidate must have excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. The individual must be able to work various shifts and times, including early mornings, nights and weekends.

Investigative Executive Producer – NBC 7

Job Duties 
·         Assist VP of News and Assistant News Director in managing of all assigned work duties as well as the day-to-day needs of a news operation. 
·         Participate in daily planning meetings. Contribute ideas for news programming based on the NBC 7 San Diego News Strategy. 
·         Lead the investigative team by planning and strategizing investigative enterprise storytelling via research, development and execution of short, medium and long range investigative stories. Position will need to use sources, documents, databases to produce exclusive content for dissemination on all KNSD platforms. 
·         Oversee show and segment production. Share responsibility for determining the composition and flow of all newscasts, selecting video, writing and copy editing stories. Work closely with producers, anchors, reporters, editors, assignment desk and technical crews to make certain program elements abide by NBC Owned and Operated Stations News Guidelines as well as the NBC 7 News Strategy. 
·         Schedule assigned Investigative Team, as well as general producers and associate producers in a harmonious way with other Newsroom priorities to ensure efficient use of resources. 
·         Establish and maintain a professional, trained and motivated staff though effective implementation of NBC’s performance management process. Work with Assistant News Director to ensure training and coaching is provided for Producers. Facilitate the orientation of new employees. Implement NBC 7 San Diego news standards and ensure adhered to while producing news programs. 
·         Work with the Promotions team to properly strategize and position Investigative Team content in the marketplace. 
·         Assist managing social media participation by the station. 
·         Assist with other general Newsroom management assignments as needed, such as special projects, timekeeping, intern/mentoring programs, and community outreach, etc.
Basic Qualifications 
·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, Communications or related areas of study, or equivalent work experience. 
·         At least 3 years of related work experience including: Direct responsibility for producing a news program and preparing rundowns. 
·         At least 1 year of focused investigative journalism experience. 

Content Producer - San Diego Magazine

Do you have at least 3-5 years of experience in print production in a writing/producing capacity? If so, we may be looking for you! San Diego Magazine is looking to add a bright, creative, curious content mind to its team. The role will focus on our growing portfolio of custom publications, which range from education to pets to family life and fun things to do in San Diego. The job duties focus on assigning, writing and editing both print and web content, as well as some social media support. A person who loves to brainstorm, interview people, visit places, write stories and turn around clean copy will be a great fit for this position.
